I am an independent curator and writer who works with historical collections and contemporary art and design.

My interest lies in bringing together objects, people and ideas to tell social and ecological stories that are thoughtful and compelling. I collaborate with a wide range of makers and thinkers to produce ambitious projects, which have included co-curating two critically acclaimed exhibitions at the V&A: Disobedient Objects in 2014, followed by Food: Bigger than the Plate in 2019.

I also draw inspiration from working closely with objects and collections. In my former role as Curator of Prints at the V&A I was responsible in particular for developing the museum’s collections of political graphics through acquisitions, research projects, publications and touring exhibitions. Continuing my work in this field I recently curated Lost Treasures of Revolution: the Graphics of Solidarity 1980-89 for the Polish Cultural Institute in London.

Pursuing my research on food and agriculture I am currently involved in developing a long-term curatorial project in rural France to explore the connections between land, farming, and making. Watch this space to see what grows!
